Do You Have a Knee-Replacement (or two)?
Friday, November 13, 2009
It will be 2 years in March since I had my right knee replaced. I was very fortunate to have an excellent doctor who did the replacement by using a computer which made the replacement as close to the position, size, etc. of my "Old" knee as possible. I had tons of osteoarthritis in my knee which was so painful, that the surgery itself seemed like a piece-of-cake. The first time I stood after my surgery, I wanted to do a cartwheel, because the pain was GONE!!!!! There was NEVER a light at the end of the tunnel with the OA pain. There was one at the end of the physical therapy and healing of the surgery. I do fine working out on the treadmill and stationary bike. I purchased an exercise ball and am thinking of trying some floor exercises. My question is for you who have had knee surgery. Have you used the exercise ball and is there any danger of turning the knee incorrectly or losing balance. Is the ball pretty stable or does it roll out from under you easily? I don't get on my knees often as it is uncomfortable. I know this will limit me somewhat with floor exercises. Any suggestions????? I welcome them and thank you in advance.
