I miss writing. I haven't figured out my whole week yet, but on Sat and Sun when I'm home alone with my daughter I decided I'm going to write during her nap time (and probably Mon, but we'll see what tomorrow brings).
Anyway, getting healthy is not just about eating right and exercising. It's also about balancing out your emotional and spiritual health too. Writing is one thing that helps me in both of those areas. And I'm sure keeping track of the physical and nutritional aspects will help there, but really my goal in writing is to keep me positive, keep me motivated, keep a record of where I've been, where I'm at and where I hope to be so I can recognize my progress, it will help me learn about who I am and uncover some hidden challenges I need to address and so much more. It's amazing how much writing can help someone, but I know it's not for everyone, lol.
I guess writing is just something I've always loved, unfortunately I get in the habit of picking it up and putting it down too frequently. But that's how I do a lot of things. I get a short spurt of interest in it, then I leave it alone for far too long. If you want to question that, ask my Mom how long it took me to finish the cross stitch I made for her (3 years!!) Not to mention the 3 years I've been working on one afghan for my husband, started 3 years ago when he was deployed, lol. Spark people is another "thing" in my life that I pick up and put down...I gotta stop that. I suppose I should take on the mind set of "I will" be healthy, rather than "I'll try" to be healthy. Regardless of if I stick with it on Spark People (which I hope I do stick it out), the healthy aspect is something I will hold onto no matter what I'm picking up and putting down. However, I think for the sake of my sanity I'm going to try to pick up some of those projects I've put off for so long and start getting them finished. Getting rid of the "clutter" in your life, including unfinished projects, is a great way to lift some weights off your shoulders, feel a sense of accomplishment and get a little more motivated.
Yep, since I'm pregnant and my body's going through some natural weight changes, and will be for the next few months while I have the baby and let my body recover, I'll need some other goals to reach for. I think my first one will be to finish that afghan, and then I'll go from there. It won't be pretty...I'm still not good at counting and my edges are always uneven, lol, but my husband will love it all the same :) He's such a good guy.
