OMG!!!!!

I weighed myself this morning and i am in tears......I was 147...I gained 3 pounds, over night...okay so I took a deep breathe....I had split pea soup yesterday with ham...and I went out to breakfast, had an egg beaters omlette. more sodium....So my logical brain says it's from the sodium...(.I also drank over a gallon of green tea....)
but why am I sick to my stomach, and feeling like a big fat pig......I'm so upset with myself....I know better but ...I'm trying to blog this out of my mind....

I had a great workout and and at 10am I have nearly 10k steps so I have been a moving..

I'm just driving my self crazy.......

    Sorry I didn't see this until tonight. You know your weight is going to fluctuate - I know you've seen the pattern as you've watched it over the past few years. Your goal weight, plus or minus a few pounds, is the range you want to maintain. Do NOT let the scale freak you out, Kitt. Keep the fluctuations in perspective. You know what you have to do...so just keep doing it. You are going to be fine!

    What a worry wart, you will be right back down.
    Have you done your usual exercise on your days off?
    I would imagine that it is just the sodium in the soup.
    NOT FAT!! just water weight.

    Now, Kitt, you said it yourself, there is a lot of sodium in split pea soup. There will be no more beating yourself up over it. I'm sure your weight will be down in a couple of days once you get that extra fluid out of you. You can do it!!!!

    Kitt my friend. NO name calling!!!! There could be lots of reasons why you are a LITTLE up today but you are not a pig. Not now or ever!!! Go back to your program and straighten out. If you are going to throw a fit everytime you gain a little, the rest of your life is going to be very fitfull. Take it easy, you know what to do. None of us is perfect and you can't control the number on the scale. Just live your life as you do every day and it will all fall into place.

    I know how you feel, your head tells you it is impossible to gain that kind of weight overnight but your heart and emotions just doesn't follow suit and we are crushed.

    You can't give up living so that you can get on the scale and not show a gain (especially a phony one). Drink you water today, eat healthy, take a deep breath and keep on stepping.

    For me, it usually takes 2 days to run through my system. Ok, so I had the flu and lived in the bathroom....next morning got on the scale and was up 1 lb. Go figure emoticon

    Now that is why they tell us to weigh only once a week. There are so many fluctuations in the day to day. Yes, that soup has tons of sodium (but I still love it) and the green tea should not hurt you unless you are retaining fluids from too much sodium. This will even itself out. But, like me, you may have to find another way to add flavor without the sodium. If I find a way first, I will let you know.

    But it will come right back off. I had done the same thing and was so mad at myself. But I know it will come right back off if I get back on track!!

    Remember that it takes 3500 calories to add a pound. A large gain overnight is almost always water gain. Watch your sodium and carbs for a day or two and the water should come right back off.

    My trainer told me "unless you actually ate 3500 calories you did not really gain a pound". It is so important to not trust your scale too much...just use it for accountability...to know you are in the right weight range and things aren't creeping up on you. Water weight can change up to several pounds a day and depends on what we ate, whether we exercised (muscle will temporarily puff up with water after a workout), and hormones. That is why when I see the number on the scale drop a few pounds overnight (impossible for it to be just fat), I don't trust it one bit. I know it's going to go up the next day! So here we go, up and down...up and down. I just look for the progress over MONTHS for the weight to steadily go down. Deep breath! :)

    Kitt, I think you are right about the soup being the reason why. Give it a few days to take a hike, and don't beat yourself up with overeating while you wait. That damage is harder to undo. Take a deep breath, and even though you say you feel like a big fat pig, deep down you know you aren't. Right? emoticon
