hungry day

Saturday, January 09, 2010

My day was a good as far as exercise goes....I did my bike and 60 minutes on the Wii
then went to our mall and meet 2 sparkpeople, we walked..I did a bit over 5 miles there....
But at home I just wanted to eat today....I had breakfast and my snack but I have had food on my mind most of the day, I kept getting pulled to the kitchen.....I finally thought maybe if I eat 2 cookies that might help....I added them to my food tracker and it only helped for a short time..We went out for pizza I had two salads, mostly just lettuce and 1 slice of tomato. and had 2 thin crust piece of pizza...I was full, but as soon as I got home I was thinking about food again....so I kept busy and now I'm posting on Spark people. I wonder why some days we are just more hungry.....I guess it just happens as it has happen to me before....
I tried to examine my feelings, am I stressed, lonely, anxious, sad, or mad...Not really any of those....I just want to eat.....I made a nice hot cup of tea and trying to get though this day and not over do it.....I keep telling myself, you had your treat, cookies, now enough is enough..
I'm going to get in my jammies and go watch TV with Gary or maybe we will go in the hot tub. Maybe that will settle my lust for food...
any way thanks for listening....
but good news 2 of my friends from work joined Spark people...
so Hi Sherry and Brenda...welcome to Spark People

have a healthy Sunday

Kitt. I love that you took time to analize your feelings and to realize your stomach was just being stubborn . I give you so much credit as I think I would have tried to appease my hunger. I learn behaviours from you all the time. Today I learned that it is ok to be hungry, just deal with it and try to ignore it or give it some fruit or veggies. Thanks for helping even when you are in trouble yourself,

WHen I think I am hungry but I know I should not-- I make tea or cocoa or broth-- hot stuff in my belly satisfies me!

Kitt, I'm thankful that you shared this. It really helps me to feel not so alone in those times when all I think about is "food". (I have a feeling in the next few days I'll be on sparkpeople a LOT as a distraction.)

As for your morning exercise?? WOW! What a way to kick off the day. (I'm feeling a bit lazy now, as I sit here typing away and munching on the last of my oatmeal breakfast.)

I have certainly been there, thinking it might have to do with hormones - either to much or not enough. If I examined my feelings and nothing comes up, then I will sit down with a bowl of lettuce & carrots (no dressing) and just chew and chew.

You did a lot of physical activity so even if you ate a little extra you made up for it. Certain things staunch my cravings better than others. Protein like peanut butter will usually work the best. Cookies to me are just like pouring gasoline on a fire :)
You did a GREAT job of staying in control! Awesome!

I think everyone has days when they're hungry or pre-occupied with food. It even happens to "normal" people from time to time. You battled your way through it and I guess that's what we must do. I hope I'm as strong as you next time it hits me.

We are apt to have days like that all our lives, Kitt! It would be nice if, once we hit our "goal" weight, our bodies and minds behaved themselves!! You did good, my lady!!

These kind of days are rough. Even though you're struggling with the thoughts of food, you are doing a great job of distracting yourself. It's wonderful that you made the choice to log onto Sparks and get your feelings out! I also like your idea of the hot tub! I may just do that in a little while myself! You are remaining strong and will be so proud of yourself after today is done!!

    Take Care!!

Kitt, I feel for you, as I know how hard you have worked! We all have hungry days, but you work extra hard at managing them! You tried various methods, including allowing yourself to have something, and staying busy with other things, and drinking a hot cup of tea. I hope the hot tub helps too! You have made it this far, I know you can do it.
Wouldn't it be nice though if we did not have to keep contending with the desire for food!
    Hugs,

Kitt, that happened to me yesterday and again today. I also ate cookies. I too couldn't figure out a particular reason. And now I am fine, feeling normal, not hungry.

I was going to ask you if that ever happened to you -- and then I read your blog. I feel much better having read your writing.

I had a hungry day too. Sometimes I just do (like every day this week!). Sometimes I don't. As I was contemplating some wise thing I might offer to you, I checked out your home page & saw how INCREDIBLY far you've come. I realized that here's no chance I could tell you something new. You're the pro! How incredible you've done on SparkPeople. I am truly inspired!
