Insurance Companies

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

After having this accident, I realize what a scam insurance companies are. They take your money and are happy to do it, but when you need car repairs and medical bills paid, the seem to think you're nuts to ask! I now hate (yes, hate, which is a strong word) insurance companies. It has taken a week and a half of run around (mostly with my insurance company) to get it to where I don't have to pay out of pocket (never mind that I had to get my car towed from the auto body shop to the transmission shop on my own dime (thank God for AAA!)) to have my car repaired and I won't have to pay out of pocket for the deductable or the car rental. This is the good news!

The bad news is, I've lost days of work as well as not being able to get my vision/glasses fixed. I'm seeing a chiropractor and she's a great help. She recommends I get my vision checked as my eyes have blurred twice while wearing my glasses (it went away as fast as it came) and I know my glasses are scratched (they weren't before the accident, I bought them last Sept.) and they need adjusting but my eye doc won't see me w/o his $180 (for the visit) paid up front. I don't have the money (I'm still paying for the glasses) and the insurance company doesn't see it as a necessity.

I am so stressed! I'm praying all of the bills are paid by the insurance companies for both the car and my medical and that I'll be reimbursed for lost pay.

I can't exercise (yet) other than walking for 5 min a day and I have been eating well (even though I haven't been using my nutrition tracker, which I need to start doing to be sure I'm eating 1500 calories per day). So I am praying I'll be better soon and will be able to exercise.

5 minutes is better than nothing. Trust me I am only doing 20 minutes of the 30minutes my doc wants me to do. But thus far they are helping . Every little bit helps. I pray your strength to get through all of this. I know stress is not good as we go on our journey.

Hi Dee, So sorry to hear about all the problems related to the accident. Great job keeping up with the Spark. Walking 5 minutes is a great way to gear up for when you are ready and get back on track with the tracker, we both know how easy it is to add in the extra calories, fat, carbs and eliminate the proteins when we aren't paying attention. Especially when we are stressed out like you are. Keep on keeping on!
