Finding Time on the Weekend

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I never realized how busy I was on the weekends until i tried to find time to workout today. I had to work this afternoon, so there goes a HUGE lump of the day. Had to do chores, grociery shop and all the normal stuff I do on the weekend.

Even though no Fit TV today, I did take my son to the park for an hour. I chased him and he chased me and I actually fit through the little opening at the top of the twurly slide (barely, but hey, I still made it through=D) I think the runt was beside himself with joy. I am usually to tired or too depressed to play with the babe and today I was able to be the mom I want to be for him!

That in itself is amazing! I am so glad I can make the moves needed to ensure a better life for him and for me.

Isn't it great playing with kids. If only we could bottle the energy and sell it.
I feel the same why about finding time on the weekends. I try to either plan something fun with my family that counts for a workout (sledding, hiking, swimming, walking around the lake etc) or think of it like your job. It's just not something you get to back out of. Make the time and then just do it. I enjoy the first approach much better.
We (my son and I) also hop off the couch and do goofy stuff like jumping jacks, hopping or dancing around during commercials if we are watching a show together.
Keep up the good work. emoticon
