walking with my son

Wednesday, February 03, 2010

Okay, so I haven't been doing as much exercise as I should. Yesterday the weather was kinda crisp to say the least but I had a feeling. So I asked my teenage son if he wanted to go for a walk with me and low and behold he said "yes". Now at 15 he loves to go to his room and hold up there after school until supper time so you can imagine my surprise.
We started out with him kind of lagging behind ( because you know it's difficult to walk and text at the same time). So I just started talking about nothing in particular and he caught up. Pretty soon we were both talking and the cell phone was in his pocket.YEAH! We talked of school, girls, morals and such. Even though I stretched it out as long as I could, before we knew it we were back home.
I told him I had a great time we should do that 3 times a week. He said why not everyday. I said great (while internally doing the happy dance). So I think I have a wonderful motivation.

I always found walking with my son to be the best times. I listened and he told me more things than I really wanted to know, but it was great.
