Over The Hurdle

My morning started off really well, I ate breakfast and was off to work. By mid morning I was (for lack of a better term) starving! I had prepared a healthy, smaller portioned lunch as I have committed, but in my mind I wanted a hefty meal.
I knew that I could make it, and with much struggle resisted the urge to go to the cafeteria and purchase something that I would regret later. I ate the lunch I prepared, reminded myself of my goals and made it through the early afternoon. I made it past the cravings!!! Woo-Hoo!!
Does anyone have any suggestions for beating the cravings? I don't chew gum so that won't work for me. I would appreciate any that you may have found to be successful for you. Thanks in advance!
