healthy-eating wise, my most dangerous time. There are so many kids' activities it seems there is no structure to the day. But I will do my best to make the healthiest choices and get some physical activity in and not STRESS over these days. The kids are only young once...
We're also preparing here for a spring trip. The youngest kid is diligently doing her online SCUBA course; I'm buying up all kinds of supplies (bug spray, sun screen, etc.). The oldest needs a new swim suit, so maybe a trip to El Paso is in our future in the next week or two.
I am finding my new eating regime very satisfying. Having had WLS, I simply feel better the less I eat. So I am doing two shakes during the day, alternating with small meals (around 200 cal each) and finishing up with a "regular" dinner with the family. I did something HUGE, which was ask my husband for his support in breaking my nightime snacking habit. Just going public with my desire is a huge step forme; even with my family, I am a very private person and my weight issues I have always keep close to the vest. But I really want to get back into my healthier habits that I seem to have put by the wayside on our move to NM, so this is one attempt at doing that.
Looking forward to getting my new underwater camera gear next week so I can practice with it before our big trip. I was able to finance about 60-70% of it by selling off old camera gear online. That makes me happy because it also helps with ANOTHER goal I have set for myself this year, which is to live more simply. Part of that is WHEN YOU GET SOMETHING NEW, GET RID OF SOMETHING OLD. I am also trying to really evaluate whether or not something I purchase is a NEED or a WANT. Yeah, yeah....underwater camera gear isn't REALLY a need; but truth is, my old stuff I wasn't going to be able to use due to replacement part issues. And I'd rather go without FOOD than go without taking PICTURES of my beloved fish. So for my mental health, underwater camera gear is a NEED.
Happy 3rd week of February to you all.
