No trainer at gym tonight

[This was actually written Monday night, but it's after midnight.]

So I went to the gym tonight for my regular weekly session with my trainer. I walked on the treadmill for a little while to warm up, then eventually went looking for him (he usually comes to get me off the treadmill when it's time for my appointment). I couldn't find him, so I went to the front desk and asked. The guy at the desk said, "Oh, didn't he call you? He had to cancel all his appointments for the whole week. He said he called all his clients." Now, silly me, I am disappointed that he's not there and he didn't call me to let me know ahead of time, so I get back on the treadmill for about twelve more minutes, then I just leave the gym. I lost all of my motivation to exercise.

Now I know in my head that I should have stayed and done a good workout on my own. I wish I hadn't let a little setback affect my exercise plans. I need to keep my focus on my goals, and continue to work toward them, even if I temporarily "don't feel like it". So now I plan to go back to the gym tomorrow and make up for not staying tonight. Here's hoping that I do better tomorrow.

    Don't beat yourself up. Unexpected changes can easily change our energy levels as well. I know tomorrow you'll be right back on track!!!!

    I totally understand how that motivation buster happened. This was the first time an unplanned thing happened to a planned event. But it was a great opportunity for learning. Now, if this happens again, with a trainer (lucky to have a trainer!!) or with food choices, you can be prepared to not let it get you down. Hey, at least you showed up and at least you stayed 12 more minutes!! In my world, that is a win!!!
