First I have to say thank you to all you wonderful sparkpeople who responded. I have discovered in my life that I am not an island and that others are really available to help. And with sparkpeople it is insight, experience and just somebody saying been there done that, been there don't do that, and been there try this! Which is what all of you did for me!
In a nutshell I did get back on track after gaining about 3 and a half lbs I lost 4 lbs the next week and finally hit the 40lb mark. ( I picked up a 40lb box of kitty litter the other day, whew no wonder my knees hurt!)
We don't have full cable so I don't usually watch cable shows but when we were out of town I caught an episode of Ruby. She was on a plateau and her therapist told her to change 5 things in her life. So I didn't change 5 things at least not yet, but I did commit to finding a WW meeting which I could actually get to on time and attend! Previously I had tried to fit it in around my kid/family's schedule now I have it scheduled.
I have thought about WW and even sparkpeople and it isn't so much about losing the weight (easier to say this 40lbs down) but being able to fully recommit to a plan after a setback and not letting the setback, the craving become my master.
There is also a spiritual lonelyness side to my eating as well that I have as yet to work out, more to come on that, later.
thankyou again to all who responded I took comfort, guidance and support from all who responded!

congrats on 40 lbs down--that's a great relief, eh? i remembered lugging around a 50 lb suitcase when i got to where i wanted to be (liiiitttle bit more than 50 lol)--wow! i was just amazed that i could have such a lack of love for myself to carry all that extra weight; for me, that's exactly what it was. so yeah; what i'm trying to say is i hear ya--it's quite a liberation!
