My First Visit To Bok Tower
Sunday, May 02, 2010
This morning hubby and I went out for a healthy breakfast and then went for our first visit to Bok Towers. Bok Towers is located in Lake Wales, Florida. Bok Towers is supposed to be the highest point in the state of Florida. We enjoyed wondering through the information center and reading all of the historical information. Our favorite part was walking up the hill to see the tower itself. The gardens around the tower are beautifully kept and there are lovely flowers, trees, bushes and grasses. Scattered about are benches, gazebos, markers with information about the foliage and signs directing visitors to different areas of the park. Around the tower itself is a small pond with koi and a swan. I took many pictures and some of them are below.
This is Bok Tower itself.
This flower looks like an orchid but is really part of the iris family.
This swan was performing and fluffing his feathers after being fed by personnel at the towers.
This flower has a star shape that makes me think of team mate WILD4STARS!
This blue flower had such a lovely color to it that I couldn't resist!
This pale yellow flower looks like it may be in the orchid family but I don't know.
You can tell from the last picture (a sun dial on the tower) that I took that particular picture at 11:36a.m. I even checked with the time on my cell phone and it was accurate!
