Starting over

I'm starting this journey again, its seems as the never ending story. I was motivated to use the blog option after watching the movie Julie and Julia. I'm not a writer, in fact my grammar and spelling is probably the worst ever. I hope that by using this out let I can keep focus and finally achieve my weight loss goal. I would like to weigh 145lbs. My starting weight was 299lbs and I always find it comforting to add that was 9months pregnant. But in reality it is sad that I allowed myself to reach that weight. I won't say that I was always thin and gained weight, nope I was always the heavy girl. Maybe that is why I'm the way that I am. Anyway, about two years ago I got down to 180lbs and stopped losing. I was so proud and was getting so many compliments that I forgot the ultimate goal. Over the last two years I have gained and lost the same 30lbs. I made my self the promise to stay under 200lbs and here I am at 202. My goal is to reach 145 and of course I want to get there yesterday. I will try to adjust and set a smaller goal of 195 by 6/18/10. I will make it.

    I think it's great that you're re-committing to yourself. I seem to do the same thing. I get halfway to my goal, and then gain the weight right back. I decided not to do that to myself this time, and I just logged back on today :).

    Way to go, Barbigrl! Hope you find that Sparkpeople works well for you -- lots of us have had long-term success with this method, even after gaining & losing the same pounds over and over again. It's really a change in lifestyle and attitudes, rather than a "diet" -- and that's the "magic" that makes it work.
