Grabbing Victory from the jaws of Defeat! ! !

I admit, I was excited to do the second workout from Body Gospel tonight. It was with the resistance bands and titled "Core Revelation" So I fixed up the bands and prepared. But my body was not ready. Having lived a sedentary lifestyle for the last 3.5 years, I was simply not limber enough to do the moves they were doing. And old knee injury, back injury and a new shoulder injury do not not help. After 7 minutes I tucked my tail and admitted defeat. I was truly bummed. The old attitudes started to creep in and I thought how I would never be able to get healthy because I was too beaten up from life. But after 3 straight days of nightly exercising, I pushed the bad thoughts away, and pulled out the "bonus" cardio DVD - "Body Gospel-Live". And it was TOUGH to complete! But I hung in to the end, doing as much as I could and following the modified program! And I sweated! And I LOVED the music and the energy form this bonus DVD! I had beaten back the demon and won a small victory!

And for those who wonder from the previous blog - I did NOT succumb to the pizza demon today, either!

I pulled out the Body Gospel cards to review and dropped them, the one that flipped over? "Do Not Be Discouraged" and the scripture? "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." - Joshua 1:9

It is really all about the courage to change and keep going. I know there will be times I need to dig deep, but for tonight - I have faced defeat and grabbed a victory!
