Not Much of A Blogger

Saturday, June 12, 2010

I am not big on blogging as you all can probably see from my very few past blogs - mostly race reports. I am only blogging for the points. Yup I said it! Only for the points! The thing is......I have started doing a lot of new healthy things "only for the points".

I began running .....just for the points
I began drinking tons of water. .....just for the points
I began trying all kinds of new foods .....just for the points
I began doing pushups and sit ups .....just for the points
I began tracking my food .....just for the points
I began counting my steps .....just for the points

So what good are the points? Well....Let's see...

I lost 55 pounds ....BECAUSE of the points
I am a maintainer ....BECAUSE of the points
I am a runner ....BECAUSE of the points
I am a healthy eater ....BECAUSE of the points
I am in a fitness certification program ....BECAUSE of the points
I have so many new friends ....BECAUSE of the points

So just maybe...... I will be a blogger some day.........because of the points.

I have never written a SP blog. But I do read blogs and comment on them ..... FOR THE POINTS! I'm just kidding. I never knew for a long time that I even GOT points for commenting on blogs. I just did it because I wanted to offer encouragement. Maybe someday I'll write one of my own. Who knows? Maybe somebody would even comment on it! emoticon

You have made an excellent point here. I wonder if it weren't for the points if you would be pointed in the right direction. I don't mean to poke at you but I will ask you a pointed question. If it you won points for doing nothing would it be as fun? Kind of a thorny issue I would say. (was that last one a stretch?)...or was it sticky? (...ok THAT one WAS a stretch) emoticon I don't mean to poke fun... emoticon

Felicia - this has to be one of the BEST blogs ever! Of course you knew I'd love it! Of course others may think you're trying to get SparkPoints, but we know you're really after DragonPoints! emoticon

Maybe you've just become a pointer emoticon . Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I'm right with you and the others, that's why I blog too. Great job on your journey!

That's the only reason I blog.....

There is a bit of attention whore in me, but I don't often have anything profound to say--at least not of any reasonable blog length. I will occasionally have a bout of clever inspiration and post a little sumthin-sumthin, but those moments are few and far between. But I try to press on, and at least try to keep my login streak going. And at least meet a fitness goal or two.

Great blog - considering you are such a rookie at it :)

I definitely care about my point totals, and I agree that has helped me with all of my Spark Goals.

I find that blogging keeps me in touch with my friends here and lets me focus on the good and the bad of my fitness activities.

Every once in awhile I go back and read something from long ago and surprise myself with what I said and thought back then. It's been a worthwhile way to spend time for me.

    You aren't alone!

    I share secrets, for points.

I post on random blogs, for points.

I do daily polls, for points.

So what good does this do for me?
Well, I guess it engages my talkative, voyeuristic and intelligent side.
I guess I can be a blogger, but I can't see myself crossing over to becoming a Vlogger.
