Update on Me

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

I have not been online at all for a while and I haven't been tracking. I've let other projects entice my attention away from doing my tracking and participating online. That's been a mistake.

However, I've been really living my life. I have been walking across large university campuses with my daughter, riding bikes with the family, walking with my dog, actually enjoying moving my body. I have been happy. I have been healthy. Even with all the crappy cold weather, I've been living my life to the fullest. I've been doing a lot of fun projects for home and family.

I can't tell you how grateful I am for all this wonderful energy and health I'm experiencing. I have Spark People to thank for this. If I want to make progress, however, I've got to get back on track with my Spark People habits and then stay on track.

I have to put my priorities back in place now and restart focusing on tracking food and exercise. It's time to actually plan my food and stop the snacking. I am so glad to be reconnecting with everyone here on Spark People. You are the only people who understand what is needed to completely change my life and keep it changing.

I don't want to fall back into bad habits, get distracted and loose ground. That's what I've been on the brink of recently.

So, today I'm reconnecting with you all by writing this blog. If I don't refocus and restart, before I know it I'll be back to that miserable lump on the couch.

I love my life right now. Thanks to Spark People I know what it takes to keep it and grow it.

Just remember, you don't have to jump back in where you left off. SP is about baby steps, so don't try to be perfect. Focus on just a few things until they are part of your daily habits, then add more.

It sounds like your life is very full right now, so take care of you. Focus on what you are doing well and not what you aren't doing. You've done so well, and with a little bit of tweaking, you will again.

On a selfish note, I'm really glad you are back. You have been missed.

emoticon I'm right here with you. I have been struggling and feel the same way. I like where I was and I like the way I felt, I don't want to lose any more ground.

emoticon for being a wonderful place of acceptance.

Terrific blog, and sooooo glad your back sparking----I missed you and worried how you were doing. You know, sometimes we spip and then have to get back with the tracking. So glad to hear you were spending fun times with your family---thats important for all of us. Sometimes everything can get to be a bit overwhelming but sounds to me your back on the right track. So keep on sparking, I love reading your blogs and comments.

I'm so glad you're okay! I was concerned about ya, since the last thing I read was that you hadn't lost weight. I'm relieved that a wonderful life full of LIVING is what's kept you from us - that's a GOOD thing!!! WOO HOO! Just let us know you're okay every once in a while, girlie, okay?:-) We care! I care! It's way more important to DO than to TRACK - but sometimes I know we need to track to do:-)

I'm just glad to know you're okay:-)

Great blog. Welcome back! Glad to hear how good life is for you right now. It truly is a challenge to find a balance. I'm still looking for it myself. Sparking takes a lot of time but the benefits are terrific; yet other wonderful activities beckon constantly and I don't like missing out. I'm going on trust that somehow I'll find the right balance once I reach my fitness goal, or maybe even sooner. Plus, I remind myself that I know from experience that when I don't track my food and exercise I lose focus and then lose the enthusiasm and enjoyment that I had going! So glad you came back before that happened. Thank you for writing about this; it's something I'm working on now too and it's always good to know I'm not alone in seeking that elusive "balance with focus."
