Cell or Sanctuary?

Sunday, June 27, 2010

We are a part of this world and yet so many of us feel as if we don’t belong. Each day going through life, going through the motions of what we feel is expected of us. As soon as we meet those expectations, we then hide ourselves away within the cell that we call our home.

Our home, the place that we feel safe, a place to where we can let our hair down and take off the mask of the day and just be “us”. Is it a cell or is it a sanctuary?

Mine is a sanctuary, it is my domain, it is where I am in control and I am in charge of me. No bosses, no expectations, just time for me. I love being home; I love my quiet time, even though some days I only get an hour to me, but that time spent is worth more than anything. I love to simply watch a movie, or soak in the tub reflecting on the day. Yes, sometimes I have to wait until 1 or 2am before I get my me time, but let me tell you, as crazy as life has become for me…….I’ll take my sanctuary whenever I can get it. *Laughing* As we have all heard, “Beggars can’t be choosy”.

So, is your time a cell or a sanctuary, and be very honest. I’m so honest about this that I despise people to cross into my “me” time and I do tell them. Gosh, if they are reading this I sure hope they realize that I’m not being mean nor selfish, but everyone needs at least 1 hour of sanctuary.
