2nd Trip to Dietician WooHoo!
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
In a previous blog, I talked about seeing a dietician for the first time. She put me on a low carb diet to help me get my blood sugar under control. Yesterday, was my second visit to see her. I am happy to report that my blood sugars for the past 3 weeks have been in the normal range except for 3 readings. Two of those readings were around 150 and I wasn't feeling good. The other one was a 59 and I had waited to long to eat something.
I will admit that I really struggled getting my carbs like she wanted them at first. Then I found foods that I liked that I cut the portions down some to get the carbs to the right amount. I have to admit the food tracker was a lot of help. Though I still found myself cutting down the portions from the food tracker. When I talked to her yesterday. She did give me some leeway on the carb count. I am supposed to consuming 1200 calories a day 135 carbs. She doesn't want eating less 100 carbs a day and no more 155 carbs per day. I need to spread them out through out the day. 3 meals and 3 snacks. She also told me one of those snacks should be a snack before bedtime. It will keep my liver from putting glucose during the night while I am sleeping. I go back to see her in 4 weeks. I sure hope my report card is as good then as it was this week.
WAIT FOR IT!
