End of June Goal Check In - New July Goals

Thursday, July 01, 2010

June goal results have gone so-so. I give myself a C+ on the month, with extra credit for turning up the intensity towards the end. Here is a quick review, with results:

Weight: Lose 15 lbs total from my start weight by the Fourth of July - looks like I won't make this one. Should just about hit a 10 lb loss on this day. I am losing weight very slowly this time around. I assume age and my shoulder injury which is limiting exercise are factors.

H2O - Drink AT LEAST 4 cups of water a day for 30 days. (yes, I know I should strive for 8, but we are starting a new habit and I am not a water fan. Remember - I want the goal to be achievable!) Hit about 75% on this one. Moving goal to July.

Calories - track all food every day in my food tracker - regardless of whether I am going to make my calories or not! Hit 90% on this one. Continue Goal into July.

Exercise - at least 3 days of cardio every week - Nope

Health - Dentist and Physical in the next 30 days - Made the Physical - missed the Dentist!

The Spark - Finish reading by the end of June - Complete.

On to July Goals:

Weight: Lose 10 lbs total for the month - while this seems easy, it will be a stretch goal for me based on the way I am currently losing.

H2O - Drink AT LEAST 4 cups of water a day for 30 days. (yes, I know I should strive for 8, but we are starting a new habit and I am not a water fan. Remember - I want the goal to be achievable!) Keeping this one into July.

Calories - track all food every day in my food tracker - regardless of whether I am going to make my calories or not! Keeping this one.

Exercise - at least 3 days of cardio every week - going to incorporate walking, since my Exercise Program is limited due to my shoulder injury.

Health - Dentist in the next 30 days

Read for motivation or pleasure at least 3 days every week. This keeps me from being a TV slug on the couch every night.

On to July!

These are great goals, 10 may be a little high, so while it is a great goal don't fret if you don't hit it. Especially with your injury. Great job! Keep up the good work.
