Why I'm off the sauce this month

In an effort to kick off my ShapeUP weight loss effort, I'm reassessing some of my less healthy habits. One of my least healthy: boozing. Not only is it high in calories, it makes me make poor food choices at Merry Anne's diner at 2:30 in the morning. It makes me too lethargic for any workout in the morning, its bad for my skin, bad for my metabolism AND bad for my wallet.
In order to really kick off my weight-loss, I won't be drinking through the month of July.
My question is: how do you have fun and enjoy yourself at the bar when you're not drinking? What do you have? What do you do? Do you just drink water? Do you replace the alcohol with soda? I'm looking for your advice!
