Susan G. Komen, Boston 3-Day

In three days, I'll be in the midst of some amazing people. Many walkers, some survivors or in the middle of treatments, raised lots of money to have the privilege of walking approximately 60 miles in three days to (1) support research for Breast Cancer and early intervention programs for people who can't afford them and to (2) raise awareness of Breast Cancer. I don't walk, but I am a crew member--this year Sweep--picking up walkers who need an assist to the next Pit Stop--maybe to be sent to camp or to rest and to get medical attention and then to continue on. Every year, I meet people who amaze me with there stories!

I pledged to raise $1000.00 as a crew member. Crew is not required to raise money, but I believe I should at least raise enough to cover my costs to the event plus a little more....... I am at $920.00 and deeply grateful to all my sponsors!

I am almost packed and ready. I have an alteration to my "uniform" (team Pink Sox--so baseball-ish attire); finish pink ribbon hand-outs; and finish packing. My van partner has made cool Red Sox baseball card signs for the outside of the van--of course changed to Pink Sox players. LOL. She is just about all packed and ready too.

Whoo Hoo! Rain or shine, heat or cold--bring it on. We are strong and ready.
