July 20th...over half the year is done...

and I have not done well on my weight loss! actually I have gained since the beginning of the year. So what is going on? for 5 years I had kept off weight; over 20 pounds then in about 8 months I do a major gain....grrr!
Well first of all, I haven't been journaling my food regularly but I know that I have been eating way too much junk! and doing a lot of grazing and late night eating. My exercise has been lower than before. and overall, I think I have been more stressed at work and even in my homelife...trying to keep up with laundry and dishes alone stresses me! lol
So obviously need to work on some changes. I need to restart my food journal and eat better foods. I need to find other activities to do in the evening so I am not bored and thinking about food.
My exercise has been better now. getting to the gym regularly and walking when I get the chance. I think I am going to continue with this plan.
STRESS!!!! what to do? life is stress, so I guess I just haven't been dealing with it correctly..that is an understatement. so when work stresses me out....I need to take a break and get in a little exercise...not go back to breakroom and find food. I need to work on other calming methods; deep breathing and maybe a little stretching. there are lots of things I can do better. just have to work at it. As for the stress at home? well that should be changing somewhat soon. children (adult children) will be moving out and that will cut back on the chaos. meanwhile, a few dirty dishes and laundry will not defeat me! I will deal with it and not make it into a reason to eat junk!
so my goal is to lost 20# by the end of September.
