I read a great article this morning by Geenan Roth......
I am going to focus my energy on living my life to the fullest.....sounds simply enough....
I'm going to TRY , I won't be perfect, I will have some not so great moments but starting today Beverly Ann Tharp is going to stop obsessing over her heavy thighs, her loose skin, her wrinkles and reveal in what she has done and accomplished and not what is left to do.
Starting today it will ... "think healthy" not the number on the scale...
think how much I enjoy walking and hiking.....forget the past , just look to the bright and happy moments I am living right now.....

Think how much richer and fuller my life is right now, not tomorrow or next month or next year...but how healthy and happy I am today.....

as I said it's time to be happy with the person I am today......

have a healthy day....

Dancing to YMCA and having the time of my life.....

I think we all need to take a page from this book.
We need to live for today and be happy that we are doing our best to be healthy. We as women spend far too much time worrying about our weight or the way we look, we need to just be!!!

    Great blog Kitt!

Kitt, I thought of something else while swimming tonight. If you haven't done it before, go to the mall some day when it's full of shoppers, and just sit and watch people for a while. You will see people of all shapes and sizes, even "skinny" people with big thighs or big booties or beer bellies and all kinds of other things. Being at a normal weight doesn't mean having a perfect body.

Be very proud of what you've accomplished!!!

here is what happened to my sister.. a few months ago she was running late and she went into a place to get her hair cut.. I'm thinking it was a Wal-Mart.. anyway it was about 10pm and she needed it done... Well she got butchered... it was terrible and with tears in her eyes she went to her regular hair dresser and there was nothing she could do but cut it 1/2 inch all over her head and even still there were bald spots..
Her hair dresser said "wear it with attitude and everyone will think this was your idea" and thats what she is doing.. our hair doesn't grow very fast at all... painfully slow to be correct... but she went and got her picture taken with her son who has the same hair cut.. only his really was on purpose.. LOL so the reason I told you this is to let you know that if you embrace your self others will to.. it sounds like you will be doing this just fine... and I think you look beautiful dancing at the Y.

You said it all, being happy and content with what we have and not what we wish for if very stress free

Way to go, Kitt! This is an excellent new focus!!! Not everyone has the beautiful slim, trim bodies that we see on young women and movie stars. We need to celebrate what we have accomplished and be very proud of it!

When I'm out riding in my bike shorts and triathlon tank top, I'm sure I look a sight to others looking at me, this fat woman attempting to prance around in "skimpy" clothes. I don't know what I look like, and I don't really care. I know what I have accomplished, they don't. They don't know what I looked like before, and they don't know how much better things will be as I continue living my healthy lifestyle. I do. What they think doesn't matter. What matters is what I've done and how far I've come. I will never have a perfect body, and that's okay. What matters is what I can do with this one! If I have to use clothes to help corral the loose skin, that's okay. Praise God I can get into the smaller clothing to do it!

And so it is with you! You know how far you've come, and you are doing things today you didn't even think of doing 4 years ago. You've come a long way, baby, and you should celebrate it! Don't focus on the thighs -- focus on the big picture, the whole you, and keep looking at the exciting things you can do now. You have inspired so many here and were a lifeline for me while I was floundering, and that is a testament to the hard work you've done and the type of person you are. You are special just as you are, Kitt. Celebrate it!
