Hot Thursday

Thursday, July 22, 2010

It was another hot day here in Southern Colorado.....and I keep waiting for the rain they promise each day that just seems to by pass us...

It was a good day, got my exercise in this morning plus a walk at lunch and still might do 30 minutes on the treadmill when I go to the family rom for a bit of worthless

I'm feeling stronger today, was a bit weak this morning after my bike ride....
It has been a month since I started the supplements and have to report that all the cramps in legs, and feet are gone...not sure I have that pep I was hoping would come back, but happy that the cramps have stopped...
A bit concerned that when I asked the doctor how long I need to take the Vit. D, 2000 IU's and the calcium 1200 mg. he said for ever?? Vit. D is not w ater soluble , so it can build up in your body, I need to read more about this...any one understand this stuff? if so let me in on

I'm off to the farmers market in the morning , looking for local produce and the cool arts and craft they have....I always buy the hand made this, they are so beautiful and I know they are made with love, those nice ladies, work all winter knitting and sewing to make extra money. So I feel like I'm helping them out and I don't have time to do it myself...maybe when I retire again in a few years.

Well lets all have a healthy week end, drink plenty of water, it's hot out there..

a side note I'm still hanging in at I am yahoo about that..... emoticon

maybe I'll get a new picture this week end but if not we are going on the 29th for professional pictures to send our family for Christmas....That's just a week away.

not sure what to wear. might go out and buy something new, low cut and

I am thrilled for you that you cracked that 140 barrier. Remember a couple of months ago how discouraged you were to be sitting on the plateau? Good work, and what an example you set for all of us.

I take calcium and vitamin D but I was told to also make sure it has magnesium with it so it will absorb into the body..that is the most I know...
hope you get your pep back soon...

We have our patients take from 400 IU's to 2000 IU's of Vitamin D (depending on their level, age, if they already have osteopenia or osteoporosis and other bone related issues), each and every day.....forever. Some who have extremely low levels take 50,000 IU's per week. You have to have the proper amount of D with the calcium to protect your bones. It is possible to have Vitamin D toxicity, but with sustained use of very, very high levels. We check their levels every couple of months and adjust if necessary.

Great job staying at 139! emoticon

Kitt, lots of women our age have to take supplements, so don't be too bummed about that.

    Welcome to middle age! emoticon

Glad to hear the cramps have stopped. Hope your get-up-and-go comes back. I'm kind of tired lately, too, and decided it must be the heat. Thankfully we're getting small breaks here and there, and I wish I could send you some of it!

Hooray for the scale, too! You are in yet another new territory...very normal weight. Amazing!!!!!
