Week 16: Detailed Exercise Log

WOW!! I have never struggled this long before...I have basically blown an entire month!! Last week I think I exercised 5 times total...that is pathetic! What worries me is my lack of desire to exercise. I just have to keep trying each and every day, and hope that one day I get up and STAY up! Here I go...trying to get myself going another week....WISH ME LUCK!!

This week my goal is again 400+ minutes and 20 or more miles...and I am striving to again do an aerobic workout 2x/day, at least 4 days this week. I also plan on trying out a Zumba class this week...didn't do it like I had wanted to last week! I am also going to be starting my next phase of P90X this week.

    Girl, you are not alone. July was not my best effort. So now we re-focus... we take our tools and knowledge and drive and warrior will and we keep on going.

    I agree with Lily Spark, I do not think that exercising 5 out of 7 days is pathetic. I don't think you probably even have a word for the amount of exercise I do. And here I thought I was doing good. LOL! I want to try out a Zumba class, too. Let me know how it goes for you and where you went. I hope that I manage to try one before I have to go back to work in Aug. Don't be so hard on yourself. The negativity will just drag you down more. You really are doing fine. Just keep at it, and before you know it, you will be naturally wanting to do more and getting more exercise in. Keep up the good work!

    It is okay. It really is. Just figure out a way to get back to where you want to be - even if it is just doing a little at a time.

    What the others have said is true - so re-focus and then just rock this.

    I am so proud of all of the efforts this month - every step counts - the big ones and the small ones.

    I'm with LILY_SPARK! This really is about more than calories in/calories out. That is what makes it such a challenge and requires us to love ourselves through it! If we can't enjoy life too, feel good about what we're doing, then we need to adjust what we are doing or our attitude. Simple, but not easy! I've been working on it; had a regular routine going then spring/summer/yardwork jumped in, I got hooked on 5/12 minute sparks a day, refused to give up yoga class for the spring/summer because my new instructor is awesome, have been exploring more trails and walking Sugar more, that and 4X a week at the gym, 30 min workout first thing every morning, family time, etc.! IYEEEEEE!!! I can't do it either! Have adjusted my attitude and if I get in 120 fitness minutes a day, it's o.k. if I don't fit in my "regular" routine for every day. Those minutes include my sparks, aerobic walks and gardening besides the obvious "exercise" minutes. That's doable and has worked for me. Still maintaining and happier. Also still more active than before SP, which is what I needed for maintenance to be more comfortable. Don't forget, we're in this for life--literally; find things you can do for life! emoticon

    Erm, okay, so you "broke your stride" on hols but you exercised 5 days of out 7 and that's pathetic?

    I'm not trying to support "bad behavior" or give you trouble, either. Think about that, though, please. 5:7=pathetic.

    I don't think that's fair. It may not have met the goals you set for yourself but "pathetic?"

    Setting weekly goals is awesome but if you're having a really hard time getting back into a "streak," how about a daily goal? Set it the night before or early that morning. Maybe littler chunks will be easier to swallow for a few days and then it'll click back?

    Just thinking!

    My exercise is NO where near where it was, either. These injuries laid me up for months and now that I'm starting to feel a bit better, it's hard to get into doing 1-2 hours a day. It's hard to do something EVERY day, so that's where this comes from -- I'm thinking of setting myself DAILY goals instead of following that week/ month schedule. I mean, it may actually follow it but I'm going to try to think of it less as "And then tomorrow..."
