Day ONE with my new Fitbit Tracker / Trainer

Good Morning Sparkfriends! Today is DAY ONE with my new Fitbit Tracker / Trainer. If you have not seen this device, you can see it here:
This tiny little device works like an amped up pedometer PLUS. And it is pretty tiny. My biggest fear today so far has been losing it. However - I did purchase a USB case to put it in and hook it to my beltloop. The Fitbit works on the same principal as the Wii - measuring movement in 3 directions to gain an accurate estimate of calorie expenditure through the day. Additionally, you can wear this little guy while you sleep via a wristband and it will give you your movements through the night - providing a general view of how restless you were. According to my first night, I was fairly restless waking up (moving) 12 times last night - but not for long periods of time. It took me approximately 7 minutes to fall asleep, I was in bed for 7 hours and 17 minutes of which only 6 hours and 50 minutes was spent "quiet".
All this data is fascinating to me! Now the Fitbit is quietly riding on my hip - tracking my steps and movement throughout the day. It will last up to 5 days on a single 90 minute charge and can store data that long also. I am a gadget geek, and I think I will like the competition against myself to increase my step count weekly. Additionally - I can "compete" against other Fitbit users on the site for steps, Active points, and distance.
Going to "benchmark" this week and see where I am actually at, right now, without adding any additional movement. I will occasionally blog about me and my new little Fitbit for those that have an interest, but if you have a question - just ask!

Have a great day Sparklers!
