FITS BLOG -WEEK 6 CHALLENGE

Monday, August 02, 2010

Last week I was determined to get a 5 mile walk in on the track and actually managed 5.1 miles.I am telling myself each day sometimes several times per day that I can't give up al-
though I'm going through some extremely stressful family challenges and being sick from
June through July has not been a walk in the park either. However,I find in the face of these
challenges and my determination to stick to my goal of walking the half marathon ,my character is being built .I was in the E.R. yesterday with an ear infection in the same ear.

*I have gained about 3 pounds which I would classify as not working, but I'm not exactly shedding any tears over it either at this time.Don't get me wrong I'm not being dismissive
just accepting so that I can move back in the right direction instead of throwing in the towel
as I would have years ago.

*What is working is getting up and doing what I need to do even when my spirits are in the basement toilet I'm so low.Keeping doctors' appointments and following my intuition regarding my emotional and spiritual needs.

I am learning to love the fact that my body loves movement and with the Week 7 Challenge I plan on giving it all the movement it can stand and then some.

My FAV songs right now that keep a pep in my step ,fingers poppin' and soul stirrin' are:

"Higher Ground" Stevie Wonder
"Overjoyed" Stevie Wonder
"Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" Stevie Woner
"Mary Don't You Weep" Aretha Franklin

"Devotion" Earth,Wind and Fire
"My Funny Valentine" Chaka Khan
