Dear Spark Friends, first I want to thank you all for your encouragement and support as I start this new chapter in my life, it means the world to me to know I have so many wonderful, caring friends here. Since so many of you have asked me to keep you posted on my new course, Holistic Nutritional Consultant, I decided that it will be easiest for me to do it as a Blog instead of trying to answer each individual request. I am happy to share with all of you a little about the course and my progress. I did a nice 3 mile walk with my Long Beach Sparkers team this morning then came home and started my course work. The first assignment is listening to an 8 CD set of lectures by Dr. Andrew Weil on Guide to Optimum Health. I have listened to the first CD and went back a second time to some areas to make sure I understood what he was saying. The CD covered:
1. The definition of health
2. The difference between healing and treatment
3. Dr. Weil's history as a medical doctor
4. How lifestyle affects health
5. Becoming responsible for your own health and well-being
He describes Health as whole, complete, everything in balance. He says our bodies naturally want to return to balance and equilibrium. I was facinated to learn the our DNA molecules actually diagnose damage and can correct and repair damage so there is a return to balance (healing). Well that 's about it for today's lesson, lol.
