It happened again

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

I did a big long post and it's gone....
any way the short and not so sweet of it...I bruised the bottom of my foot this morning running, ouch that thing hurts. it was dark and wet but I still decided to run....not my smartest idea to date....any way I'm going to be limping for a while.....no running for a while...so shoot is all I can say and I have a terrible looking purple foot...
time to get my self in relax mood and elevate this foot, hoping to be able to at least walk tomorrow or ride the bike.

have a healthy Thursday

Kitt

Perhaps a good old Epsome salts soak will help "draw "out the soreness and bruising
It is usually done with 1 cup of Epsome salts and enough very hot water to cover the foot. (this is done AFTER the first 24 hours of injury and using ice.)f Alternate hot and cold. good luck and heal fast.

Always treat an injury with respect and lordy don't make it worse. You can do stretches or exercises sitting in a chair.

    Ice works great

Major owie, Kitt! Ice it, keep it elevated, and be careful the next few days. You might have to take it easy and just rest it. I've had to do that periodically when my knees or other things act up. It's a drag, but sometimes we need to rest and let things heal. That is as healthy as exercising, seriously. The whole big picture is taking care of ourselves, and sometimes that means taking a short exercise break so our bodies can heal from injuries.

You asked about the wind up here -- it's still windy. They are getting some rain over the burn area this evening, but likely not enough to help enough as it is supposed to dry up and warm up again starting tomorrow. There was a triathlon scheduled for Boulder on Saturday, and it has been postponed because the air quality is terrible, too much smoke. The folks in charge of Sunday's ride are making a decision tomorrow what to do about the ride. I won't be surprised at all if it's postponed or canceled. Given that there is currently no containment of the fire and there's a health advisory because of the smoke, that would be the smart thing to do. We'll see what they say Thursday.
