Rate me: "Very Committed"

Saturday, September 11, 2010

I just read this blog
and am very happy to say that this description fits where I am right now, and where I have been for most of these 2+ years on SP:

"Very Committed - You are learning to make changes and are determined to see this new lifestyle change through. Although there are a variety of things in your diet that still need attention, you are making progress with small, sustained changes. You are willing to continuously learn new habits and seek information and motivational help. You are learning what foods are best for your lifestyle and have found ways to get exercise that you enjoy. Frustration at the slow pace sets in from time to time and makes you want to give up but you quickly get back on track with the encouragement of others. Finding the balance with work, family, and personal time is always a battle but you are learning to make it all fit to reach your goals. While you have significantly reduced your visits to restaurants and use of convenience foods, you are still learning to embrace the social implications. You believe slow and steady will win the race and accept that you can't be perfect but work to do the best you can each day."

I'm feeling pretty good about where I am. Yes, I've had times when backsliding happened more than climbing, but I know what to do and I generally make OK choices. It seems that my body doesn't allow for just "OK" and that frustrates me, but I'm going to make my goal weight in 2011. I am.

What? You think I'm really "Most Likely to Be Committed"? Just because my psychologist husband could put me there (literally) doesn't mean I'm ready to go to a rubber room. Yet. We'll see what happens at my next plateau, though.

I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I am.

I rated myself "very committed", also. And yes, sometimes I too feel like I could be "really committed" if I wasn't careful. But I'm sure your DH has his own methods of handling that!

In this journey, my emotional state has varied greatly...from the insane, helplessness to the intense euphoria. Through it all, I keep plugging away because all it takes is an honest blog about my feelings for an sp'er to come to the rescue! It's therapy that I'm actually willing to listen and respond to!

    Thanks for the blog! emoticon
