Simple remedy for out of control nighttime snacking
Wednesday, October 06, 2010
Probably my biggest saboteur in previous weight loss efforts has been my night-time snacking. Without a doubt, I am sure I consumed more calories after dinner than I did in the 8 hours before dinner. I didn’t eat because I was hungry….I ate out of habit and boredom. I also ate to numb myself.
For years, I struggled with this and then a read a simple suggestion in a Woman’s World magazine that is working for me. It said to wait 90 minutes after dinner and eat the same thing each night. Such a simple concept...and it works!
I have an apple every evening….sliced…with peanut butter. And I am satisfied! No more repeated trips to the fridge all night long. I feel normal again.
FOOD:
1) Activia yogurt with Product 19
2) Lentil soup and veggies
3) Tuna salad on 1 pc. rye bread
4 & 5) Date night -- chicken and broccoli
6) Apple & 1 Tbs. peanut butter
EXERCISE: 30 minutes DVD
10 mins. arms
10 mins. legs
10 mins. abs
Facing some bumps along the way but still enjoying the journey.
