Wow, where did October go? It was such a busy month for us. We harvested the soybeans and just finished the corn. We had two birthdays, had a few days off of school, did lots and lots of cooking and went out for Halloween. But, the most important thing about October is I got back on the wagon.
I started the Mayo Clinic diet. It is a really straight forward plan and all pretty common sense but layed out in a way that works for me. I haven't counted a calorie or measured any portions and I've lost 13 pounds in a week and a half. The biggest challenge has been giving up sugar, real and the fake stuff. After the first two weeks are up I move into a different stage where I learn how much of each food group I need each day and how to figure it out without a food scale. Yippee! This isn't a harsh diet that I will have to figure out how to live normally when I'm done, to me it feels like a plan that I can live with. And I'm excited about it
