I faced my "enemy" today.....

Friday, November 05, 2010

200+ pounds. This one little number has been my enemy now for over 10 years. The last time I remember being under the 200 pound mark for any significant period of time was almost 7 years ago, but that was thanks to the Atkins diet and I gained it all back (and then some) a few months later. Not this time though......

I started my weight loss journey 2 years ago, and I weighed in at 234 pounds. This was several months after the birth of my 2nd child, and it was my high (i.e. low) point. I decided that I needed a change. I entrusted the start of my journey to my chiropractor (and licensed nutritionist/former body builder). Over the past 2 years, I have hit the 200 pound mark (and even 1-2 pounds under) SEVERAL times. It never fails though that once I hit that point, I get too comfortable and start to gain it back again. 8-10 pounds later I start the losing all over again, only to hit the dreaded 200 pound mark and, well you know,......NOT THIS TIME!!!

When I stepped on the scale this morning, it said 200.2. I have decided that it ends here and now. This is the last time I will be over the dreaded 200 pound mark. I will get under it. I will stay under it. I faced my enemy today and I did not like it. I will never be this heavy again. emoticon

You deserve to reach you're goals and I hope you let us all know every 5 pounds under that 200 mark that you lose !!!

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "Never, never, never give up."

Good for you for setting your limits and taking action.

It sounds as if you have all the tools you need to defeat that enemy for good.
