There should be a test to see if a person's loss of memory is major or normal. I get caught up on the PC or reading, or watching tv and I'll forget to put mom to bed. I set an alarm clock. I set one to remind me to fix my lunch so I'm not eating too close to supper. I have set times to eat, so not using kitchen when husband cooks. He mainly cooks mom's meals. I'm very lucky to have him. I'm better at baking than cooking. Besides, he likes to cook.

It all sounds complicated but just little reminders helps.

I know it sounds weird that my husband and I usually eat separate, but I'm a picky eater. At times there are dishes we eat together. It is also easier to eat separate when I'm tracking my food. TV dinners are a big part of my diet and sweet potato fries and rice.

Back to the memory. Do you forget something that you were just working on? I'll be cooking something on the stove like my rice or fries and turn to empty the dishwasher. If I don't set a timer to tend my food, I could forget and go right on into the den and workout or go on the computer or watch tv.

I have forgotten to take my pills and did forget to give my mom her evening pills one day last week. Her new itching pills that she is to take twice a day...she's lucky to get it once a day.

The caregiver needs a caregiver.

    My memory is pretty bad. I commented on a blog and instead of just writing debby, I wrote debby weasley. emoticon My husband and I eat seperately too because he is very thin and we don't eat the same foods.
