Getting Started

Starting yesterday, I followed a friends suggestion to join Sparkpeople and get my life back on track. Amy, my wife, is also geting on board so this will be a little easier for me than for a lot of you. I bought the book and did a little reading last night. It looks like a great book to get me started. There is a lot to learn about all of the tools on Sparkpeople so Ineed to get busy.

    Hey. As everyone else has said. Welcome. Take baby steps. My only suggestion is this. Set yourself with short term goals but have a long term goal in mine. With the STG you will see the results and stay motivated. Having a support partner is great! (That's partly why I love SP!)

    Just stay focused and if you get frustrated or start feeling overwhelmed, step back, take a short break and if you feel the urge contact any of us... we've all been there. This is the best site and best opportunity for people to get our lives back and to get healthy. It's a change in our lifestyle, not a diet so you and your wife will be with us the rest of our lives...

    Welcome to the challenge. I started about 2 weeks ago and have already seen some progress. It is great that you have your wife to support you. It helps when you are not alone!
