So I'm still here! Ok, I know it's only been two days, but.....well I think I need to check in at least every couple of days. I do have a good excuse, I'm clearing the clutter! I'm doing it in sections in my office work area, and it REALLY does feel better. It's truly like the energy is flowing again. Now if I can just keep it this way.

I should have clarified that it is my hubby who is unemployed. It does feel like both of us in a sense, and has added a tremendous amount of stress, but all in all, we are hanging in there. We are both working towards ways to bring in extra income while he continues to look for work. He has put in hundreds of resumes, and only had 2 interviews, so it can be a bit disheartening. Did you guess that he's a carpenter? No matter, something will come up. It always does emoticon, but sometimes it is right at the wire, which we are getting close to right now.

As for my diet and health.......again I am trying to regain some control of my eating and activity. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again.......EVENINGS are the WORST!!! I'm working on it though and now that part of my creative area is clean I'm going to (again) focus on creating.

That said, I'm not doing too bad, but the beginning is almost always the easiest. We'll see how it goes, I don't intend to turn back again. emoticon

  • MARYCLARK518 does nothing but cloud your mind....your vision....and I believe helps contribute to depression. Despite your husband being out of work.....which you all have no control do have control over the rest of your lives. Good for you for taking CONTROL. What you're doing is perfect! Keep up the good work and I know something is going to open up for your husband. As far as evenings....try to find a project to work on and only work on it in the evenings. When you have that urge to eat....get a glass of water instead......drink it..and before long that hunger feeling is gone! Stay positive! Have a great day!

    Char, I hope your hubby finds work soon. I know it's stressful and that is probably not helping much with the night time eating. I have a thought, do you have someone in your area that can be a weight loss buddy for you - someone you can call and chat with when you feel tempted to eat in the evening? It would have to be someone who understands and can help you work through it or talk you out of it when the temptation gets strong. When I was younger I belonged to a 12 step group for eating issues. I had a sponser that I could call when I was tempted to go off my program. Hang in there! You're doing well just by being here and checking in every few days.
