STRUGGLING TO GET BACK ON TRACK - I lost 8 lbs initially in my bid to exercise regularly and eat healthily, but I've put about half of that back on, and I've only worked out on the treadmill once last week and only once again this week. Off to Reno, Nevada tomorrow to do shopping (not many places to shop in a town of 2300), and for brother, sister in law, and my Mom to have doctor appointments. I'll actually behave better than the late night snacking while watching educational and/or historical DVD's. Have a long stretch of being home till December 27, so hope to get into better eating routine. Sorry not to have such a good report - blessings, Larry - emoticon

    You know what you have to do to get on track. Soon the holidays will be gone and you can focus more on what needs to be done. I have the same problem of staying on track. But knowing why I came here helps to get me motivated. Being healthy, fit, and not having to be on any medications is a good motivator for me. We will get back on track soon.     Thanks for the encouragement. I lost 35 lbs many years ago - was just me (the only male and a protestant at that), and a group of elderly overweight nuns at Imaculata College in Philadelphia area - each week we would weigh in then go and have confession - lol!     Remind yourself this is your journey to health and fitness. I do not mean exercise fitness i do mean avoiding being unfit to function properly or well. You must keep your body well oiled from the inside.
    Consider your body to be like a self lubricating machine.
    If it is not used it seizes up and it takes lots of WD40 to fix it.
    Only you can do it and only you can recognise your needs. Go for it larry for your health's sake. Pat in Maine. I am doing just that and I left it a little late already.

    Perhaps all the shopping and dr appointments will help. It sounds like a fair bit of walking. When you get home get back to your exercise. You can do chair exercises while you watch the history. Lift your legs up and move your arms about. It all helps! Hope you have a good trip away and feel refreshed when you get home and ready for the challenge. I have been watching a good history programme called the Edwardian Farm. Hope you get to see it. Take care,
