Starting the New Year

I have to admit I'm glad that the holidays are over, and I can get back to a regular routine. No more goodies at work or at friends how or the stores....It just seems no matter where I went someone had something I JUST had to try....thank goodness I was strong and smiled and said no thanks, maybe later, knowing I would get out of there as soon as possible....
I'm glad that in my own home the mixed nuts are gone, hoping they never return....why is it I can eat small amounts of raw nuts and never think much of it but give me the oiled and salted mixed nuts and I can't seem to stop....the potica is gone, the pies are gone the cookies are all gone too. Today I spent time giving and throwing away temptations...I then went and bought fresh fruits and veggies for the next week.....It feels good to know that if I need a little something to nibble on there are small apples, cuties and carrots, and if I am truly hungry they will satisfy me.....I also used my Vitamin cottage gift card, thank you Jeanette from work for that great gift to get fresh ground peanut butter, and raw nuts for my snacks....
I am on track and ready willing and able to progress through another year of healthy living....

Please read Coach Deans blog from today, I enjoy all his blogs and articles, he has been there and is still going in the right direction. I believe he will win his struggle he is going though after having some health issues....He talks right to my brain, so if you get a chance read his blog and give him some support as he has given most of us....

Well today I got my work snacks and lunches ready for the week. cooked enough chicken for 2 weeks , bagged and froze them so I will always have lean protein and fresh fruits and veggies ready when I need them, or want them.....I also made up my raw nuts snacks for my mid morning snack, I have tried to get away from that midmorning snack but it never seems to work for me. if I don't have my snack then by lunch I'm over hungry and eating what every I can get my hot little hands on , in our work kitchen it can be chips, Frito's, or cookies....so I'm sticking with my 10am snack of protein, most times a nut mixture I make up, weighing it all out in little snack bags, I can eat any where I might be....

well enough of my day
Have a fresh start..if things have worked keep them if not do something different....
Make YOU the number 1 priority in your life, you are worth it...
