I have a book titled Superfood RX by Steven Pratt M.D. and Kathy Matthews. I really recommend this book, because sometimes in my meal planning, I tend to focus too much on low-cal, low-fat foods and forget to eat healthy. Look, at 44, I really need to start worrying more about staying strong and living an active healthy life in the future, rather than obsessing over fitting back into the Prada skirt in Mary Ann's closet. (though I hope to do that, too!).
The 14 foods are: Beans, Blueberries, Broccoli, Oats, Oranges, Pumpkin, Wild Salmon, Soy, Spinach, Tea, Tomatoes, Turkey, Walnuts, Yogurt.
Of course, the book details related super-cousins and gives recipes. (without calories counts, so I really don't use them.) When I shop, I keep this list of foods handy, so that I can pick up good choices for my family.
I really fell off the wagon recently, and I hope to use this guide as my stepping stone to success. Along with The Spark, naturally!
