A challenging weekend

Sunday, January 09, 2011

Well, I did it! DH and I traveled to the coast to see son for his bday. To top that, I'm battling a wicked head cold/upper respiratory congestion. So I knew I wouldn't be up for exercising. And I also knew I'd be in for some challenging food choice decisions. We went to a nice restaurant and ordered appetizers. I had hummus w/fresh veggies....Yum! For dinner I chose mahi mahi, grilled....with rice (didn't eat it all) and zucchini squash. Delish! I splurged a little and had some bread pudding for dessert...but didn't eat it all. For breakfast at the hotel today, I stuck w/raisin bran and skim milk. I took an apple for the road home. We then met our son at Cracker Barrel for lunch around noon. Wow! what an eye opener! There isn't much on that menu that is healthy, I'll tell ya! I ordered a roasted turkey chef salad w/FF ranch and a cup of veggie soup. It was very satisfying! Nibbled on the apple on the way home....and now I've got some chicken tenderloins in the oven baking. All in all....I'm quite proud of my choices this weekend. Now, to get over this wicked cold so I can workout without coughing up a lung! lol

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!
