Helping out young Families

Monday, January 17, 2011

It's Monday, a new week, and it has snowed all day---I can't even see across the lake. Everything is white outside. Ive shovelled off the deck and the walkway and the driveway several times, and it's all snowed in again. The 2 Germans (as in German Shepherds) love the snow and chase each other all over in it. It's beautiful to watch them run.
This morning a young girl emailed me about her separation from her husband and how hard it is for her, with 2 little preschoolers. She has to work, and so far is not receiving child support. I offered to babysit when she is stuck for a sitter---gratis---kind of like a surrogate Grandmother--- thought that is the least I could do.
It made me realize how fortunate I am , to have always been able to stay at home with my own children, as they were growing up--something , that my own children are not priviledged enough to do , in to-day's world.

How kind you are to help out this young person. I know about helping out young people as my DS and DDIL live with us right now as my son can only get PT work, driving school bus. He does make some extra money doing night ski runs to the hills and doing some charters. My DDIL is taking a college course online and is working away at trying to do well so she can help out too. If she is lucky, she may have a childcare job starting in February, which will give them some help. Right now we pay most of their bills and feed and house them. The things we have to do to help young ones in these difficult times.

That is great that you are helping her out!! It is alot harder for Moms today in that sense! It is not a stay at home moms world anymore! My mother had six kids and stayed at home with all of us! I have only one and we would be on the street if my husband and I didn't both work!!! Glad there are still people like you out there who are willing to give a helping hand when needed!! Great Job!!
