stupid all or nothing ideas

Sunday, January 30, 2011

I am such an all or nothing person. I've been half-heartedly doing Weight Watchers. Since they have changed their program, I can no longer figure out their point system with just my regular calculator.

Anyway, I've been paying for 2 programs - Calorie King and WW. WW is more visually appealing, but CK is so much less expensive. I'm locked into a great rate, that I can keep ($57 a year). I'm paying 4x that amount with WW.

The most frustrating thing about this is that I just haven't been keeping it up. And then when I go over on my points, I tend to just blow off the whole week. This keeps repeating itself, and I keep losing the same 5 lbs over and over. I haven't gained anymore, just not really going anywhere.

So to make my life simple again, I cancelled WW. I'm going to stick wtih plain old calorie counting (just like Spark People diet does). Nothing complicated.

I need simplicity in my life - not a bunch of tools that I won't use! Plus I feel guilty about the money I put into something I'm not using correctly.

Back to simple calorie counting, weighing myself weekly and measuring, and trying to get in 3-5 workouts a week.

That is all - no more. I'm tired of "dieting" taking up too much of my time, and stressing about it.

Who needs WW when you have all you need here on sparkpeople??! And for FREE?? Just track your calories and stick to 10 minutes of exercise per day, and possibly drink your water, everything else will fall in place with time.

Good for you! I think going with an easy to follow plan is the best and free is your mantra now. Free on spark people, free to spend more time helping yourself, and most of all, be free to forgive yourself and move on. Everyone on this site has had bad days or even longer, but you know that it will be ok, and just keep going. The best of luch on your journey to a better you.
