Light headed

Monday, January 31, 2011

So, I did 15 minutes on the elliptical on a program called "custom" yesterday. The program looked like a pyramid, so it started at ramp "1" and increased to ramp "13" before going back down. I did great, I pushed it and I didn't stop even though I told myself I wanted to...however, I did get a bit lightheaded when I was done, even though I did a cool down by walking a couple of laps. I was starting to get a headache last night so I'm attributing both the headache and the light headedness to dehydration. I know I'm not drinking enough, although I've been doing better. So today I'm not going to the swim class my friend is going to, instead I'm going to focus on water and nutrition for the day. Since I have a bit of a migraine aura this morning, I'll see how I feel tonight. If I feel better I'll hit up the gym then. In my defense, I have made it to the gym 4 times this week, so I know I'm doing good! Still waiting on the personal trainer to call.

Kudos for making it to the gym four days this week!!! You've done great!! The water is probably the answer, just keep at it and add more water and see.

Well I hope you feel better! It does sound like dehydration to me also. I don't always like my water either so sometimes I will say I have to drink 1/2 my water before I get anything else to drink that I may think tastes better. Another thing you could do is add a lemon slice to you water too.

Yep, that's my guess too. I have my favorite water bottle, and that goes with me to the gym and I always have my glass full of water at home. I can't flavor my water because most of it has aspartame, and the rest of it gives me indigestion for some reason. I'm getting back on track though...very excited! Kudos to you for all your hard work too!

It very much seems like you weren't drinking enough water. That's exactly how I feel after working out when I haven't had enough water to drink that day. Usually now, I carry one of those Large bottles of Dasani water (from the gas station).. It usually constitutes as being 4 glasses of water. I usually flavor my water too so that I drink more. I will usually drink 2-3 of those a day. :) Most of the time.. 2. But I make sure that I drink at least one whole full bottle before I go and work out.. then take a bottle of water with me, while I work out.. and I don't get light headed anymore. :)

I hope it helps! Keep up the good work sweetie!! emoticon
