Today is the start of our second week with the personal trainer. Over the past week, I figured out that I'm better at eating than I thought I was, but I still have some of those cravings I tend to give into. I'm happy to say, even when I give into my cravings, I'm still able to keep my nutrition levels in check. I figured out that my hamstring is tight on my right leg and this prevents me from doing some great exercises. I told my trainer, and he showed me how to use a roller to massage it if it does cramp up, and we talked about how past injuries (sprained ankle years ago) could have caused me to favor my right leg which may be causing the issues now. We're going to work on it, and I'm going to start doing a lot more hamstring stretches to see if I can get it to be a bit more lenient. I'm rocking the workouts. I'm cool with all of the exercises we did this week, except plank...I hate you plank!! But at least it gives me something to strive for! I need to work on the strength in my arms, although my trainer said I should be using my chest to keep me up...yep, definitely something to work on. I hated plank over walking lunges even, lol...while holding 10 lb weights in each hand. Actually, the lunges kind of worked out my hamstring on my right leg, which I can still feel now hours later, but it's a good "feel it" feeling. I weighed myself, and while I know weight can fluctuate over time, it showed I lost 3 pounds!! Woot!! Let's see if I can keep this up :)
Here's to week number 2 with a personal trainer! It's a love, hate relationship Mike, really it is...keep me going on those planks and I don't know which way the balance will fall, lol.
