Not My Typical Blog Entry. Even Better :)

Had a really great day today that I just wanted to share:
Tonight, my roommate somehow convinced me to break my habit of staying in on Friday nights to study, and how glad I am for it! We had a fabulous evening. A few months ago, a new movie theater opened up about 15 minutes from our apartment, in a really swanky part of town. This new theater does not offer your typical movie-viewing experience; instead, each attendee gets their own reclining lounger, complimentary flavored popcorn, a blanket and pillow, and seat-side food and drink service. While not typically one to spend money on such frivolous things such as a movie (I think they are WAY over-priced) I happily forked over my $17.50 (not even that much more than a normal movie ticket, nowadays) to indulge in the experience & see the chick flick "No Strings Attached" starring Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.
When we got to our big recliners and got settled in, a [very nice looking] waiter approached us with menus. My roommate Mandy looked over at me and commented that she was hungry, having not had time to eat dinner in order to make the movie. I noticed that I, also, was a little hungry but had not planned on dining out; however, I did something really "risky": I ordered off the restaurant menu without knowing the nutritional facts! We both ordered flatbreads (Mandy got four cheese; I had Parmesan chicken basil) and a 6 oz. glass of fruity Chardonnay. Our food and drinks arrived a few minutes after the movie had begun (the recliners were equipped with swiveling tables- it was the neatest thing!) Everything was delicious! And you know the best part? I just ate and drank and enjoyed- I didn't worry about calories; I didn't worry about how it would affect my body. I just lived in the moment and experienced a lighthearted comedy, delicious dinner, and nice glass of wine. I felt like a real college kid for once.
So this must be what living is like :)
