I hate my new job - don't know what to do?!?!?!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

I have just started a new job. I thought it would be perfect; its in the field I want to work in, it sounded really good the in the ad and when it was described to me.

Problem is ......... I HATE it. This is really weird for me I am normally massively enthusiastic about a new thing.

Part of me says that is stupid to quit a new job so quickly and I haven't really given it a go - but the other part of me says well it is really menial and its not going to get any more difficult. I'm really disappointed - the job was advertised through my faculty at university - they specifically required a student studying my degree - however you need no skills to do the job and there is NO opportunity to work with anyone else to learn anything from as the only time work is offered is at night when all the staff have gone home, despite the fact that the ad talked about "consolidating and practical application of knowledge gained through the course"

I think I can probably still get my old job back. I'm just really pissed that these people were so dishonest about what the job was - I really don't want to stay somewhere where I am not going to be happy.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I just really don't know what to do!

Sorry to dump here - I try to be positive here but I just need to vent.
Thanks for listening
Hope you all have a happy and productive day emoticon

First!!!!, almost as I was writing someone stole home and took my first.
If you do not like it and you are feel that there is no way to go up, then I recommend you take your own advice and get your old job back before anyone builds some expectations of you and throws a guilt trip back on you. Time is short before they fill your old position, so grab a spoon and dive into a slice of humble pie. On your way out grab some knee pads and get ready to grovel to your old Boss on your knees and your hands pushed together pray he/she takes you back under their wing.

Life is about learning and that was an experience I am sure you will soon not repeat. I hope you get your old job back and I thank you for sharing your story. Venting or not all of us support you.
