Week 1 (5K Restart) - Days 2 through 4, Bod Pod, and the TSUNAMI!

Friday, March 11, 2011

Day 2 was water aerobics. I've noticed a steady improvement in my stamina. I'm really enjoying the class and I'm feeling more comfortable in the water. I'm hoping to take some swimming lessons soon. I'd love to be able to swim laps!

Day 3 I did 1.33 miles in 30 minutes on the treadmill. I'm not sure I like doing the walk/jog program on the treadmill. I kicked up to 3.5 mph on my minute jogs. I wasn't really jogging. It was a fast paced walk, but I was kind of afraid to kick the speed up more than that. LOL

I had an appointment with the nutritionist on Day 3. It was good to know that I have been making good choices. She gave me some guidelines to follow and I am going in for a metabolic rate test next week. She'll be able to tailor a plan more to my metabolic rate which should help me even more.

I did my first Bod Pod test since July. I lost 11 lbs of fat and gained 7 lbs of lean muscle. My next Bod Pod test will be in 2 weeks.

Now on to the tsunami...

The first waves hit our island after 3 am Hawaii Time. I stayed up until 5:30 am watching the news and reassuring my family that we were safe. My phone has been going off like crazy. Only 2 hours of sleep really sucks. I'm watching local news and there has been some damage to the Hawaiian Islands. They are allowing people that had to evacuate go back to their homes. I'm glad we live up so high! Things could have been much worse for the islands. We're praying for the people of Japan and all those that have family and friends there.
