Needed help

After following my nutrition plan pretty well all week, and walking almost every day, I got on the scale this morning and GAINED 8 LBS!!!! I'm SO TIRED of trying hard to do this, and being disappointed every week!

So I went this afternoon and joined a gym! Am hoping with the variety of workout choices I have there will help me! I have an appointment there on Tuesday to have an assessment done, and get a workout regimen that is designed for my needs!

Since it's about a 30 minute drive to get there, and with the cost of gas these days, I plan on going 3 days a week, and doing my walking on the days I don't go!

My hopes are that since this is something I am actually paying money for, I will take advantage of it! Wish me luck!

    Best of luck to you. emoticon The scale can be very frustrating, believe me I know :-)

    Google "why the scale lies". It's a very informative article about how and why weight changes so much. I doubt very seriously you are up 8 pounds of body fat.

    Congrats on joining a gym. That's what got me motivated this time around too and I'm really enjoying going!

    Small steps are where it starts! That's awesome that you joined a gym! I'd make sure that your scale is working properly and that you're drinking enough water. Also the time of day that you weigh-in could effect your weight. I weigh about 2-4 lbs heavier at night. I started weighing myself about 15-30 minutes after I get up in the morning, before my shower, and before I eat or drink anything. I want that to be the lowest weight possible! Lol. Keep with it, and you'll do great! emoticon

    I really wish you luck. It will take a committment to drive that far every day..but you will want to get all you can out of out it when you get there. With walking between times it sounds like a winner plan. Or should I say a 'loswer' plan!!! an 8 pound gain (or loss for that matter) sounds very odd. I would think there was either a scale error or significant water gain. Your coach at the gym should be great help.
