I just don't want to.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I dont' want to eat right, I don't want to exercise. I know I have to, but I just don't want to. I am just in that mood for the past few days. I am stressed to the gill at work by backstabbers and people who think they are perfect. Stressed at home with everything there from my kids to waiting to hear if dh got the job he wanted. I just want to crawl into a hole for a few days and just stay there. I won't of course. I will do what needs to be done.

I totally understand the feeling of not wanting to do this. I didn't want to when I came back to Spark in January! The thing that got me through, and still gets me through the occasional rough day is this little trick: I tell myself I'm allowed to eat anything I want, as long as I track it first. (Writing it down doesn't count; I have to fire up my computer, look up the item, and track it.) It works! emoticon emoticon

I can certainly relate to that one! I do want to exercise but didn't make it to the gym today. I don't want to eat right. I like high calorie foods and am craving salt big time. I hate feeling this way and know that 80 percent of my problem could be solved by not eating refined foods and not eating crap for a few days. Then the addiction would be broken and I would feel better and would feel like eating right!

We all feel that way at times. So glad you have the strength to do the right thing. The other stuff just leaves you feeling rotten later on.

You are a strong woman, and you will do what you have to do... that's what mothers do, right? Try to get a little bit of time for yourself, though, and forgive yourself for your slip-ups. emoticon

Remember WHY you are eating right and working out. Sometimes we have to focus on the desired result to get past the work required. A good way to get your mind back on track is to pick one thing and conquer it.

Tick off your 8 glasses of water, track your food, etc. Just do SOMETHING! :)

Hang in there you can do it! Sometimes this whole process really comes down to not wanting to but doing it anyway. Think of how great you'll feel if you stay on track and do the things you don't want to.
