This blog had the potential to go two ways:

I was going to write my "Ode to Sweets", posting pictures of all of the junk food (cupcakes, milkshakes, cookies) I was cramming in as an attempt to up my calories before my new dietitian showed me how I can increase my calories in a HEALTHY way (yes, I am on a new meal plan and loving it! It was super tough at first to adjust to the large volumes of food I'm eating, but my body is responding and my hunger is FINALLY coming back after only a week!!!)

But, I decided posting lots of unhealthy food pictures on SparkPeople is prooooobably not the best idea.

So instead, I'm just gonna go with this...

I just want to let everyone know that I appreciate SO much the words of encouragement and support that is given to me by my Spark friends. You all are truly amazing and deserve to live happy, healthy lives!

That being said, I will not be spending as much time on SparkPeople as I was in the past few weeks. I think that while I am eating a higher calorie diet it is best to not compare/post what I'm eating and my lack of exercise. It's hard for me to see other people eating what I want to eat, and I think the situation may be reversed, as well.

I will still be using the nutrition tracker to make sure I am getting my calories and nutrients in (my meal plan is based on the exchange system, but I am tracking my calories and nutrients, as well). I will also still be using the message boards on Spark and reading blogs (maybe posting a few, as well).
I just realized I was getting too wrapped up in the food and exercise bit, so I need to learn to use SparkPeople as a tool to help me succeed-- not obsess.

Again, I really just want to say thank you to all of you. I really feel as if I've made some friends in the SparkPeople community, and I want to continue to support you all, as you've done for me! (: Have a blessed evening

PS, the weather is GORGEOUS here; I hope you all are experiencing nice Spring-like weather, as well!

PSS, I have made some really delicious recipes lately, and when I get a chance, I will post those probably (too good to not share!)

    What a great post! Congrats on realizing that you need to pull back a bit. Can't wait to hear from you when you are ready! As for spring, It was 80 degrees here today (first time since last year!), and I saw about six turtles sunning themselves on a log in a nearby lake today. It was wonderful! Enjoy the weather---and your new plan! Caroline

    I need to cut back on sparkpeople as well, especially since the weather is becoming nicer and I have more to do outside.

    Well glad to see you back posting. I think you will find even though (I)we might have the jealously bug for what you get to eat we also know your struggles and are far more happy for you then thinking about the food! Blessings and peace. It was nice when we came through Phoenix yesterday, high 80's and maybe even 90's! emoticon emoticon emoticon
